Prof. Dr. Mahmudul Hassan

Prof. Dr. Mahmudul Hassan is a distinguished ENT specialist currently serving as the Director and Chief Consultant, SAHIC & SENTH, Mohakhali, Dhaka, since February 2025. With over four decades of clinical experience, he is widely recognized for his expertise in otology, rhinology, laryngology, skull base surgery, head and neck surgery, and sleep sinus disorders.
He obtained his MBBS from Chittagong Medical College Hospital in 1983 and earned his Fellowship (FCPS) in Otolaryngology from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) in 1994.
Dr. Hassan began his medical career as an Assistant Registrar at IPGMR (now BSMMU) from 1990 to 1994. He subsequently held key positions at several prestigious medical institutions including:
- Chittagong Medical College Hospital as Registrar (1994-95)
- Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital as Resident Surgeon (1995–1998)
- Sir Solimullah Medical College Hospital as Assistant. Professor. (1998-2003).
- Rajshahi Medical College as Associate Professor (2003–2004)
- Begum Khaleda Zia Medical College Hospital as Associate Professor (2004–2011)
- Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital as Professor (2011–2015)
- National Institute of ENT , Tejgaon, Dhaka as Director and Professor (2015–2018)
In 2018, he retired as the Director and Professor of ENT at the National Institute of ENT, Tejgaon, Dhaka. Following his retirement from government service, he served as Director cum Senior Consultant at SAHIC & SENTH from 2019 to 2021.
In February 2025, he rejoined the Society for Assistance to Hearing Impaired Children (SAHIC) in his current leadership role.
He has many publications in international and local journals on various topics in otolaryngology (ORL) and head & neck surgery (HNS).
Prof. Dr. Hassan has received extensive specialized training in advanced ENT procedures, including international training programs in the USA, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Poland, Australia, Singapore, and India. His contributions to the field have made a significant impact on ENT education, clinical practice, and surgical innovation in Bangladesh.

Dr. M.A. Samad, MBBS, rendering his services as Senior Consultant, Specialized ENT Hospital of SAHIC. He received his medical education at Rajshahi Medical College, Rajshahi. Followed by Diploma in Laryngology and Otology (DLO) degree from IPGMR under Dhaka University. He trained in the field of Research Methodology in Thailand by World Health Organization and Fellowship training by Takeda Science Foundation, Japan in the field of Physiology of hearing and Pathology of deafness for a period of three months. He has presented papers at various national and international seminars and symposiums at home and abroad, reflecting the activities of SAHIC. He is working at SAHIC since 1994.

Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain MBBS: DA is a Senior Consultant and Departmental head of Anesthesiology at SAHIC Specialized ENT Hospital, Mohakhali, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his Medical Graduation from Rangpur Medical College, Bangladesh. He earned his advance Medical Degree (D.A) from Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He attended Nanavati Hospital Bombay, India and received Specialized training on C.P.R and Anesthesia. He also worked as a Senior Consultant at Sharawardy Medical College Hospital from 2016 to 2019. He is working at SAHIC.

He obtained graduation from Rajshahi Medical College, Rajshahi and Post Graduation training from IPGMR (at present BSMMU) Dhaka under Prof. M. Nurul Amin, renowned ENT Surgeon of Bangladesh. Obtained DLO degree from IPGMR under Dhaka University. He is rendering service at SAHIC for last 27 years as ENT Specialist and surgeon.

Arafat Rahman, MBBS, DLO, exteriorized his medical journey with graduation from Rajshahi Medical College & Hospital in Bangladesh, followed by post-graduation at Dhaka Medical College & Hospital under the BSMMU. He heightened his expertise through international courses, including advanced FESS training at the University of Adelaide headed by Prof. Dr. Peter John Wormald, hands on Middle Ear, cochlear implantation & Lateral Skullbase Surgery at Gruppo Otologico, Italy with Prof. Dr. Mario Sanna and hands on Head-Neck Resection & Flap Reconstruction course at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He rounded off his qualifications with a fellowship at KKR ENT Hospital & Research Institute in Chennai, India. He was eruditely indomitable to enrich his professional skills by working at Otology & Head-Neck Surgery Department of Apollo & Evercare Hospital Dhaka working from 2013 to 2022 as Senior Specialist. Dr. Rahman’s unwavering dedication to expanding his knowledge and skills underscores his commitment to delivering exceptional care in the field of ENT and Head-Neck surgery. Now his is working as a Consultant at Specialized ENT Hospital of SAHIC.

He achieved his medical degree from Dhaka National Medical College & Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh during 2002 and DLO from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka. He completed Temporal Bone Dissection Course from Bradford Royal Infirmary Hospital, UK and attended UK evidence Based Conference (Management of Persistent {Un-explained} Physical Symptom) from Freeman Hospital-Newcastle, UK. Dr. Md. Aslam Hazari MBBS, DLO, is an Associate Consultant of specialized ENT hospital of SAHIC. He completed his MBBS degree from sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka. Then he completed his post-graduation degree in ENT from Dhaka Medical College under Dhaka university. He heightened his professional skills by FESS training at UCL in London, advance ENT and head neck surgery training at Bradford in England, anterior skull base and advance FESS training from Singapore general hospital, middle ear and Mastoid surgery course and FESS training at VIMS in India. He has special interest in anterior Skull Base,ESS and Rhinoplasty surgery. He is rendering service at SAHIC since 2002.
